Top 3 insanely good skincare products you need to know about

Updated: Jan 3, 2021

Honest review of La Mer and Drunk Elephant gift sets from Sephora. Are these trendy skincare finds worth the price and do they really work?

As the Sephora fall sale is still going I couldn't pass up the 20% Rouge discount and finally splurge on so highly coveted skincare brands that I had my eye on for a while and decide whether or not these are the best skin care products.

What I bought:

- The Cleansing Foam

- The Treatment Lotion

- The Regenerating Serum

- The Moisturizing Soft Cream

- C-Firma™ Day Serum (full size)

- D-Bronzi™ Anti-Pollution Drops

- B-Hydra™ Hydration Serum

- Protini™ Polypeptide Cream

- Umbra Tinte™ Physical SPF 30

- Bonus! Compact Mirror

3. Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare DRx Acne Eliminating Pads

4. Kosas Chemistry AHA Serum Deodorant

5. IGK First Class Charcoal Detox Dry Shampoo

I am already a huge fan of the Drunk Elephant brand and always on the lookout to find new sales and deals to get something new and exciting from their anti aging line. I have to state the obvious - wait for the holiday time and get the gift set on sale if you can! It includes the full size (1oz) of the C-Firma vitamin C day serum and other mini serums and add-ons for you to try. I love that you can mix multiple products together for the added benefits.

# 1

I must say that I absolutely LOVE this Drunk Elephant vitamin C serum! It was my favorite product of the entire purchase .

Formulated as a lightweight serum it's perfect for any skin type and this is a rare occasion when the results are visible immediately! I seriously did double takes each time I passed by a mirror.

My skin appeared brighter and more firm right after the first application and the skin tone is continuing to improve. I keep my serum in the skincare fridge and it makes the application more pleasant. I use this serum in the mornings right after cleansing my skin and doing the Dr. Dennis Gross anti acne treatment.

The verdict - YES! Absolutely worth the price! (Retail is $80 and the gift set is $88).

Plus 20% off for Rouge or 15% VIB or 10% Insider.

# 2

It provides just the right amount of hydration and moisture without being too heavy.

I use this in combination with The Treatment Lotion and The Regenerating Serum from my La Mer gift set and it makes my skin glow and provides my skin with some great nutrients overnight.

The whole set is perfect for such Skincare Concerns as Fine Lines and Wrinkles, Dryness, and Loss of Firmness and Elasticity

h it?

The verdict - I would say the gift set is totally worth it for me! You get decently sized product variety to try and the products are amazing! I just don't know if I am ready to purchase all these products separately at full price yet. The Moisturizing Soft Cream by La Mer retail price is $190 for 1oz and the gift set is $160 (includes 0.5 oz soft cream + other products)

Plus 20% off for Rouge or 15% VIB or 10% Insider.

These little Salicylic Acid pads are so powerful and they really do work wonders!

The catch? They burn so much! Please please have a fan nearby (paper will do) to use right after the application. I've had a decent amount of chemical peels in my life and these burn a little more than a mild peel. I do have to note that it mostly burns the delicate neck skin and not my face. I do the spot application vs covering my whole face in the solution.

So hack number 1 - have a fan handy, hack number 2 - cut the pads in a half. They are so heavily saturated that half of the pad is more than enough to cover the face.

But does the solution work? Absolutely! In 1 week I saw significant improvements in my skin appearance and it looks more clear with less breakouts! So I will continue to endure the suffering twice a day.

The Verdict - Yes, completely worth it! Retails for $42 (includes 45 pads but you can double the treatment amount by cutting the pads in a half).

Plus 20% off for Rouge or 15% VIB or 10% Insider.

Some of my other favorites from Drunk Elephant that I keep going back to are:

I hope you enjoyed my honest skincare reviews! The Kosas deodorant didn't work out for me personally as expected but I am very picky when it comes to deodorants and mostly prefer anti perspirant combo. It does have some great reviews so give it a try!

Below are some of the cutest skincare fridges from Amazon. You invest in skincare, make sure to keep It fresh!

The IGH Charcoal dry shampoo was a bonus that I got with points (travel size). I absolutely LOVE this dry shampoo and completely stopped looking for a better one. Highly recommended. It definitely extends the wash time and smells ah-mazing with zero residue!
